Letters from Cody......

We received letters from Cody this week with all kinds of fun stuff included.  A less active member of the church, who Cody and his companion have been working with, pulled out a box of about 200 belt buckles and wanted them to pick out a few for themselves.

This is one that Cody picked out for Christine.  The Elders in Texas aren't allowed to wear any of these types of belt buckles, I guess they can be a little distracting :).

Cody received new name tags, so he sent one of his old one's home for us to keep.  This style of tag slips in your suit pocket so the white part doesn't show when you are wearing it.  I love the scripture he has written on it.  D&C 101:16 is a revelation given to Joseph Smith which includes the words, "Be still and know that I am God". 


Cody ended his letter to me with this little gem....

"Whenever the girls get frustrated with you for saying "no", just remember all the times I got frustrated with you for saying "no",..........now I just want to give you a hug for saying "no" at the right times :)".

Cody also shared with Steve how his knowledge of sports has helped build trust with an investigator who has a son who plays shortstop for Baylor.  Because Cody can speak his language :), he has been able to establish a friendship with this man who wouldn't have been interested in the church otherwise.  Cody and his companion have been helping him with a couple of properties he manages, and because of service and the relationship they have developed, he has been comfortable talking with them about the gospel.

Cassidy and Christine got their own letters from him as well, but they both told me they are "private" :).
